Summer is certainly here in the beautiful SW Algarve. The weather is warm/hot every day and the sea is a refreshing blue contrast.
It has been noticed that the beaches are quieter this summer than usual at this time of year, so come and see for yourselves :). We surfed alone at Amado last week, early morning 2 foot clean little waves with no-one else about, blissful.
The seas have been active this month with incredible widlife. Orcas have been spotted passing the coast, as well as dolphins, and minky whales. As always there is a tremendous amount to do and see down here on this amazing part of the world.
In June we drove to the Spanish border to do the famous Zipwire border crossing across the Guadiana River! It is highly recommended for an adrenaline rush.
Heath is off on a motorbike trip tomorrow. Being already on mainland Europe makes things a great deal easier. He's heading up north to NW Spain, meeting his friends from Brighton half-way. They plan to do their own version of the Camino way, park the bikes up and walk a short part of the way, probably to the nearest bar that serves local cider! We wish him a great trip. Motorbiking down here is getting really popular. The roads here are incredible for riding, quiet, and stunning passing through hills, woods and open plains. And of course, staying in one of our properties makes it all the more fabulous :) Sagres is one of those places that people just have to visit. It is the end of the world.
